Day one · Begin at the square

Arrive without a tightly packed schedule. Start outside the church and monastery, then visit the interior only if access has been confirmed. Notice the stonework, proportions and the way the buildings frame the square.

Day one · Taste and settle in

Arrange a Sausage House visit or a tasting at In Sylvis before travelling. Choose one experience rather than racing between both. Have lunch, check in and leave the late afternoon free.

Day two · One more layer of Istria

After a slow breakfast, choose nearby Tinjan or a wider excursion to Motovun. Browse CentralIstria.com for context and practical ideas. Return for an early dinner rather than treating the countryside as a list to complete.

A lighter alternative

With only half a day, keep the square, one confirmed cultural visit and a reserved meal. These are planning suggestions, not guided tours. Walking time, access and transport depend on your own arrangements.

The most memorable part of a journey is sometimes the space between things.
